Overview (U):

(U) The purpose of Radiant JADE is to develop a capability that allows tactical users to receive - via the TRAP/TDDS broadcast - updates of the current Electronic Order of Battle (EOB) for a specific area of interest (for a theater Joint Intelligence Center (JIC))- via TRAP/TDDS or similar broadcast. This capability will permit a tactical data broadcast. Radiant JADE will also permit all TRAP/TDDS-capable units in a given area of operations to maintain a common picture of the battle space, from an EOB perspective.

Description (U):

(U) The Radiant JADE FY97 architecture will be expanded to develop tactical "user pull" capabilities for a wide variety of data bases (i.e, Wrangler, Modernized Integrated Data Base (MIDB), etc.), for which delivery of the build data will take place via wide bandwidth communications paths (e.g., Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS), SIPRNET, etc.).

(U) A second initiative is to provide GALE-LITE (formerly JEAP) workstations to deploying battlegroups and amphibious readiness groups as an interim capability until GALE-LITE functionality is fully integrated into JMCIS.
