Overview (U):

(U) The purpose of Radiant PINE is to develop a capability that allows users to exploit national-level UAV data.

Description (U):

(U) Radiant PINE was initiated to ensure naval forces can exploit data collected by national UAVs which have the potential to revolutionize battlespace awareness. Radiant PINE will leverage the investment of the Defense Airborne Reconnaissance Office (DARO) in a wide range of UAVs. Specific efforts will form on combining data from UAVs with other national sources of information.

(U) All efforts to provide data or information from UAVs will rely on existing communications architectures.

(U) Radiant PINE initiatives are:

- (U) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)/HSI/Feature Extraction Experiment planned to investigate the potential of RADAR and HSI data to increase the knowledge of the denied area, from NTM and UAV integrated operations.

- (U) Radiant PINE also participated in Kernel Blitz 97.
