(U) This category describes the navigational space systems the DoD is operating. These systems comprise the NAVSTAR GPS program, which is a satellite-based radio positioning/navigation system providing extremely accurate, three dimensional, common grid position, velocity and time of day information to users anywhere on or near the earth. This category also describes programs designed to protect these navigation assets and capabilities as well as preventing the unauthorized use of these navigation assets by an adversary. One initiative described in this category is the Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD).
